In June 2015, Facebook launched Lead Ads, a new advertising and promotional option that makes it easier to get people to sign-up for a newsletter or submit information to your business. How does it work? When a person clicks on your ad, Facebook auto-fills the required fields with the person’s REAL Facebook profile data. Lead Ads make it easy for businesses to get Facebook users real contact information within just a few clicks.
What does this mean for marketers? It means that now more than ever it’s easier to get REAL potential customer contact information. (After all, people use their real contact information in Facebook and now Facebook makes it super simple for you to get that information.)
Facebook Video Lead Ads Now Available
Because video is such a popular and hot marketing strategy, Facebook recently added video as a Lead Ads option — so now you can include photo ads AND video ads!
According to Facebook:
“Video lead ads function the same way as lead ads with photos do. When people click on the call to action button below the video, they’ll be directed to the lead ad form.”
Adding the option to include videos in your ads just explodes the range of options you now have for reaching your audience and getting more and more qualified lead contact information.
Lead Ads Now Available in the Ads Creation Tool
You can create Lead Ads in Facebook’s ad creation too — making it easier than ever to set up and put your Lead Ads out for all to see. To set up a Lead Ad in Facebook ads creation, just select “Collect leads for your business” as your campaign objective.
Facebook offers training through their Lead Ad Creation “bluprint course.
This new advertising option is very popular with marketers — and this is a no-brainer because Lead Ads are such an easy way to collect targeted leads. The main issue that marketers and advertisers are having is Facebook’s integration with CRMs. When you get the contact info through Lead Ads, the data is sent to a spreadsheet that you can then download to use the data. Now you can obviously work from a spreadsheet, but spreadsheets are clunky and cumbersome. (I personally HATE spreadsheets.) Currently Facebook integrates with some pretty expensive CRM tools.
CRM tools are great because it makes it easier and faster to contact these potential customers once the leads come in. (How many of you have great leads but they are stuck in a spreadsheet somewhere? Come on, it’s okay to admit it?)
Hopefully Facebook will open up to more affordable CRM tools as the program expands.
So if you haven’t tried launching a Facebook Lead Ad campaign, get going! It’s one of the easiest and fastest ways to generate new leads.
